Zjefke

Who am I?

Hello world!
My name is Zjefke Vanelslande.

I'm a Linux Site Reliability Engineer with a passion for building reliable, maintainable, and automated systems. I avoid repetitive tasks by writing code that handles them for me, because if it can be automated, it should be.

I strongly adhere to engineering principles like KISS, DRY, and YAGNI, ensuring that the solutions I implement are simple, reusable, and focused on actual needs, not hypothetical ones. My goal is to create systems that are not only robust and scalable, but also easy to understand and extend.

While front-end development and web design are outside my area of focus, I bring a sharp eye for identifying functional and usability issues across technical systems. I can provide valuable feedback on web and mobile applications from a performance, stability, and user-interaction standpoint.

I’m also available to support the automation and optimization of engineering workflows, infrastructure, and operational processes to improve efficiency, performance, and reliability.

My toolset is broad and adaptable, with key strengths in Kubernetes, GitLab CI/CD, Python, Golang, Bash, and Linux systems. I'm comfortable working with a range of DevOps, monitoring, and infrastructure-as-code tools, whichever best fits the problem at hand.

Let’s simplify complexity, reduce manual toil, and build systems that just work.
